Stated First Published in the U. S. A. In 1960 on copyright page. ; From dust jacket flap: Pierre Ronsard has come to Paris with his grandfather to present a petition from Saint Sylvestre. This village in the French Alps is to be sacrificed for a hydro-electric project which will, if it is completed, supply electricity to the towns and factories of south-east France. The Government has told the villagers that they will soon be flooded, and move to a newly built village. Resentment in Saint Sylvestre is bitter, and the inhabitants form a local "resistance movement' to sabotage the massive dam that has been built. Although his grandfather is one of the leading rebels, Pierre's own sympathies are divided, for after visiting the dam he secretly dreams of becoming an electrical engineer. Nevertheless, in the end, he has to choose sides. ; B&W Illustrations; 168 pages Price:
